Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to get it removed. Written to be read rather than to be survived.

Last updated 2026-07-24 · Applies to Remote Sales Jobs, operated by Closer Institute

This policy is not finished. The registered business address, company number and governing jurisdiction are still placeholders in src/lib/site-config.ts. Fill them in before accepting payments. Stripe reviews the live site and will reject an account whose policies don't identify the business.

1Who controls your data

Closer Institute is the data controller for personal data processed through Remote Sales Jobs. Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@remotesalesjobs.ai.

2What we collect

Everyone

  • Account details: name, email address, password hash, role, and profile image if you sign in with Google.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and request logs, kept for security and abuse prevention.
  • Communications you send us.

Candidates

  • Profile data: headline, biography, location, timezone, availability, niches, tools, languages.
  • Sales performance figures you enter: close rate, cash collected, average ticket, calls per week, show rate.
  • Any Loom URL, résumé or supporting evidence you upload.
  • Applications you submit, jobs you save, and alerts you create.

Employers and recruiters

  • Company profile: name, website, niche, team size, description, logo.
  • Listings you post and notes you record against applicants.
  • Billing details, held by Stripe. We store only a customer reference, plan and invoice history.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not ask for special-category data such as health, ethnicity or political opinions. Please don't put it in a free-text field.

3Why we process it, and on what basis

  • To provide the service: matching candidates to roles, running applications, hosting profiles. Basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To take payment and keep accounting records. Basis: contract, and legal obligation for records.
  • To moderate listings and prevent fraud, scams and pay-to-work schemes. Basis: our legitimate interest in a trustworthy marketplace.
  • To send transactional email: verification, application updates, billing notices. Basis: contract.
  • To send job alerts and digests you asked for. Basis: your consent, withdrawable at any time.
  • To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying usage data. Basis: legitimate interest.

4What is public, and what is not

Job listings are public and indexed by search engines. That is the point of a job board.

A candidate profile is only listed in the talent directory while you have "open to work" switched on. Turning it off removes you from the directory. Your email address is never shown publicly, and full profile access is limited to verified employer and recruiter accounts.

Your sales figures are always labelled as self-reported unless you have completed verification. We never invent, adjust or estimate them.

5Who we share it with

When you apply to a role, the employer receives your application, profile and any Loom or résumé attached. That is the purpose of applying.

Beyond that, we share data only with the processors we rely on to run the service:

ProcessorPurposeData
StripePayment processing and billingName, email, billing details
NeonDatabase hostingAll account and platform data
VercelApplication hosting and deliveryRequest logs, IP address
AnthropicAI listing enrichment and match scoringJob listing text, profile fields
GoogleOptional sign-inName, email, profile image

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

6International transfers

Our processors operate in the United States and the European Union. Where data leaves your region we rely on the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent approved transfer mechanism offered by that processor.

7How long we keep it

  • Account and profile data: while your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of closure.
  • Applications: retained for 24 months so both sides have a record of the process, then deleted.
  • Invoices and payment records: 7 years, because tax law requires it.
  • Moderation and audit records: 24 months, to defend against repeat abuse.
  • Server logs: 90 days.

8Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of your data, in a portable format.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and data.
  • Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing or job-alert email at any time.

Email privacy@remotesalesjobs.ai and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your local data protection authority.

9Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in readable form. Access to production data is restricted, all traffic is encrypted in transit, and payment card details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the relevant regulator within the time the law requires.

10Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, described in the cookie policy. The essential ones keep you signed in; nothing is used for advertising.

11Changes

We will post any update here and change the date at the top. Material changes are notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
